SELF DECLARATION OF EPF MEMBER IN CASE OF MEDICAL ILNESS

EPF MEMBERS NOW REQUIRED TO SUBMIT SELF-DECLARATION FOR ADVANCE IN CASE OF ILLNESS OF MEMBERS/ DEPENDENTS EPF members will now only be required to submit a self-declaration for the advance in case of illness of members/ dependents. Differently abled members will also get advance on the basis of self-declaration. A member will no longer be required to submit any medical certificate or any other certificate or document or proforma whatsoever to avail advances under paragraph 68-J or under paragraph 68-N of EPF Scheme 1952.  Ministry of Labour & Employment has amended Paragraph 68-J and Paragraph 68-N of Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952 and It will come into force from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. PRADHAN MANTRI GARIB KALYAN DEPOSIT SCHEME – DISCLOSURE DUE DATE EXTENDED TILL 30TH APRIL, 2017

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended another opportunity to the Indian Citizens who have yet not declared their undisclosed income to declare under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme (PMGKDS). RBI in a press release said, "It has now been decided by the Government of India, in case of persons who had filed the declaration by depositing tax, surcharge and penalty under PMGKDS on or before March 31, to allow extension of time till April 30, 2017 for banks to upload details into RBI's E-Kuber system and for depositors to make commensurate deposits, if not already done." A Father cannot appear and plead on behalf of his children says Madras High Court

A Division Bench of Madras High Court bench, in  P . Balasubramaniyan  v  The Tahsildar, Karur District has refused to grant permission to a father to appear as party in person and plead on behalf of his children. The father had appeared before the court claiming on behalf of his two sons, seeking a direction to the respondent to issue caste certificates to the children. The children however were not made parties to the writ petition. The registry of the high court, raised objections on the maintainability of the petition, but however directed the matter to be placed before the division bench by assigning a temporary number. The Division Bench headed by Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao and Justice S . S . Sundar upheld the objections of the registry and dismissed the writ petition as not maintainable.
